Headteachers, Assessment Coordinators, Foundation Teachers,

Pre-requisites…

It is essential for attendees to have a good basic understanding of the latest Development Matters in the Early Years Foundation (EYFS) framework www.education.gov.uk/eyfs  (as this is not part of the workshop training).

It would be useful if prior to attendance a log in for SIMS .net could be in place and respective permissions. If you are not sure of the setup required please contact The ICT Service Helpline on 0300 300 0000 (option3) 2-3 days ahead of you attendance.

Course overview…

This is a ‘hands on’ workshop (using your own school data), which allows you to not only update existing software, but also offers the opportunity to feedback your school’s experiences of this past few years and discuss with colleagues the best and effective use of this new module.

There will be detailed demonstrations of relevant analysis; as well as full step by step guidance that has been specifically created only for workshop attendees.

We will also be introducing even more additional resources, such as Additional Templates to include:

  • Progress from previous years RID
  • Individual Reporting for children (ideal for children joining or moving on)
  • Termly individual Reports
  • Easy to use Tracking Grids
  • Excel based reports to show progress including graphs
  • Nursery (N1 and N2) Additions to compliment all the Reception Updates

This can be offered for both Centrally Hosted schools and those running SIMS .net in School (locally hosted): However the setup for locally hosted schools has to be organised in advance. Again, please contact The ICT Service Helpline 2 – 3 days in advance of the session to get this set up.

Course objectives…

  • Feedback from the Statutory Summer Return
  • Networking opportunity
  • Review of current / existing resources.
  • Overview of new resources now available
  • Updating existing software
  • Setting up of additional marksheets etc. (if new users)
  • Analysis – using marksheets and grids (all age bands)
  • Additional Resources update (Reports)
  • RID Excel based Report (as per Early Years requirements)
  • Suggestions for future development

Upon successful completion of this course all attendees will have a greater ability to analyse the data that will have previously been entered using marksheets, tracking grids and reports far easier than you have been able to do before.
